Description

Missouri is Now a “Right to Weed” State!

Effective Thursday, December 8, Missouri officially became a “Right to Weed,” or recreational marijuana state. This is in addition to the medical marijuana law that was approved by voters in 2018. So, what does this mean for Missouri employers? Learn the potential impact on your business! Burt Garland, Shareholder, Ogletree Deakins, and Phil Brandt, CEO of AAIM Employers Association, will present what you need to know about policies, handbooks, and drug testing.

Special Guest: Master Sergeant Tyler Jenkins, Drug Recognition Expert, Missouri State Highway Patrol. Sergeant Jenkins will present the different signs of marijuana, drug, and alcohol impairment.

Burt and Phil will discuss these issues and more!

  • Handbook must-haves for marijuana and other forms of impairment.
  • What to do if someone has a workplace accident and tests positive for marijuana use.
  • Random drug testing in a state where marijuana is legal.
  • What the employer should consider and take into account when dealing with medical marijuana patients versus recreational users in the workplace.
