Excel is a spreadsheet program that is part of the Microsoft Office suite. You use Excel to organize, calculate, and analyze data.
In Excel, you work with worksheets, consisting of rows and columns that intersect to form cells. Cells contain various kinds of data that you can format, sort, and analyze. An Excel file is called a workbook, which contains several blank worksheets.
After completing this course, students will know how to:
- Open and interact with Excel and how to save and close workbooks
- Enter various kinds of data, formulas, and functions
- Format text and numbers, align
- Use various data-entry shortcuts
- Create charts
- Split and manage worksheet windows
- Use workbook properties, check workbooks for accessibility and compatibility issues, use templates
