This training session will focus on providing updates to:

  • One Day Rest in Seven Act
    The One Day Rest in Seven Act has four primary amendments that will be covered including when an employee must receive a day off, when a second meal break is required, a new notice requirement, and an increase in the penalties for violations.
  • CROWN Act
    The CROWN Act expands the definition of race and amends the Illinois Human Rights Acts. We will discuss what this new definition means and why it may be necessary to review your dress and grooming handbook policies.
  • Family Bereavement Act
    The Family Bereavement Act expands employee rights to bereavement from loss of a “child” to a “covered family member”. Who is now considered a covered family member?
  • OSHA and Worker’s Compensation Ergonomics Considerations
    Organizations now have remote and onsite employees. How does ergonomics impact OSHA requirements and Worker’s Compensation reporting? What is the significance of OSHA’s General Duty Clause and what injuries may be compensable under worker’s compensation?

Included in the cost of the presentation is a one-on-one follow-up session with our presenter Rebecca Babb.

This session can be used to discuss issues or concerns regarding your internal policies pertaining to the One Day Rest in Seven Act, the CROWN Act, Family Bereavement Act, and the OSHA and Worker’s Compensation Ergonomics Considerations.

Rebecca Babb is an HR Compliance Services Specialist with over 20 years of experience working with businesses and law firms. She holds an M.B.A. and JD and is currently admitted to the State Bar in NC, SC, and Florida. Rebecca is SHRM-CP certified, has an American Management Association certificate in HR Management, and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education. She specializes in assisting businesses with their HR needs via written policies, procedures, compliance, HR audits, process improvement, job descriptions, handbooks, onboarding, performance management training, and strategic planning.
