Daring leaders know how to have hard conversations, hold themselves and others accountable, lead with empathy and connection, take smart risks that lead to innovation, build trust, reset quickly after disappointments and setbacks, and give and receive feedback – even when it’s tough. Especially when it’s tough.
Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals. Courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. Each of the four skill sets are explored and there is an opportunity for participants to relate the skill sets to their leadership.
Session 2 of 6: Rumbling with Vulnerability – Using the Daring Leadership Assessment, participants will dig into the importance of self-awareness and emotional literacy in courageous leadership. We will explore the Myths of Vulnerability, what it is, why we need it and what gets in the way. Spoiler alert: Shame. We’ll talk about how Shame prevents us from showing up in connection and courage with our teams.
